How I work
Deep collaboration
I believe in the power of working deeply with others, especially across roles and specialties. Some of the best ideas and design solutions have come from jamming with engineers early in my design process.
Questions I think about as it pertains to Collaboration:
Who might be good to jam with on this?
How can we work together to create a better result?
What non-designer might be good to get with on this?
Growth
Personal growth and team growth is extremely important to me. I love to explore new terrains, introduce new ideas and experimentations to our team, and mentor others.
Questions I think about as it pertains to Growth:
How are we improving the way our designs system team works?
How are we planning for the future of design systems?
How are we improving the quality of what our consumers create?
What tools & processes can we bring to improve the way we work?
Accessibility
During my time on Magnetic and in Duo, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with an expert accessibility specialist and its changed the way I approach work.
Questions I think about as it pertains to Accessbility:
How are we involving accessibility in the design process?
Are we including a diverse user base in our usability testing?
How can this component be used without a mouse?
